Waiver Wire Madness - Week 3 2020 Fantasy Football

Writer's picture: BillyFFDBillyFFD

The injury bug plagued the NFL this weekend faster than COVID-19 in Wuhan. I hope y’all listened to my advice and didn’t waste top waiver priority on Nyheim Hines when now the majority of your stud RBs are out significant time. With the way the world has been in 2020 so far, we can expect even more injuries and wild things to come. If you don’t get your top two or three guys in waivers this week, might want to make a trade instead of using the waiver order this week. You always want to stay a week ahead and not a week behind. Bye weeks are right around the corner, fantasy owners must be diligent with how they use their waiver picks.

What a brutal blow to the Panthers hopes and dreams, CMC will be out 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain. Mike Davis is the guy that fills his position until he returns, or so we assume. Davis found himself thrown into the passing game with 8 receptions for 74 yards last week. I don’t expect him to get 8 catches every week, but I do see him taking over that starting role. He is my number 1 waiver wire add for the week because of the length of injury to CMC.

Jerick McKinnon- 22% owned

McKinnon must be the luckiest guy in the world, or at least on his team. Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman went down with knee injuries against the garbage Jets. Kyle Shanahan blamed it on the turf field they were playing on, which by the way, they have to play on again this week against the Giants. McKinnon rushed 3 times for 77 yards in the win versus the Jets. He normally is used more often in the passing game and that should continue this week.

Dion Lewis- 1% owned

Saquon is officially done for the season with a torn ACL, and unless they sign Devonta Freeman this week you will want to pick up Dion Lewis. He isn’t a great runner, but he makes up for it with his pass catching abilities. He finished the game on Sunday with 4 catches for 36 yards and a TD on 5 targets. Lewis only rushed for 20 yards on 10 attempts which isn’t good. Keep an eye out to see if they add Freeman or not.

Gardner Minshew- 32% owned

Minshew Mania is a real thing, and it is coming to a city near you. For those of you who didn’t draft a QB early and went the streaming route, pick up Minshew and that mustache. For those of you who want extra rushing yards, touchdown passes, and love a great pair of jean shorts, Minshew is your guy. Through 2 games, he has thrown for 512 yards and 6 TDs along with 38 rushing yards. Minshew faces the Dolphins this weekend, expecting him to continue to produce.

Keelan Cole - 3% owned

In need of a WR? I have one that I am focusing on this week and that is Keelan Cole. He has looked to be Minshew's top option through two weeks with no signs of slowing down. He has put up 11 receptions for 105 yards and 2 TDs so far. He will not win you leagues, but he could win the week for you if you are in need of a flex spot start.
