Picture this, you are in the fantasy playoffs, sitting pretty… or so you thought. BOOM your starting RB or WR gets Turf Toe, his career is over. Now what?! If you are a real fantasy manager, or if you read my article the last few weeks, you planned for the inevitable Turf Toe. As I sit here on Monday night watching Cole Beasley cook the 49ers like a Christmas Spiral Ham, I want to tell all of you, I told you so. I’ve been saying for weeks that Cole Beasley should be on fantasy teams. This is my Waiver Wire Playoff Edition roster advice. This is not only for next week but for the remainder of the season. This may be the last Waiver Article of the season, I haven’t decided yet. Considering the majority of teams that make it out of the first round of the playoffs won’t listen to my advice anyway because you think you are know-it-alls. Let's get down to business, and hopefully solidify your team to make a championship run!
This week we will be doing things a little differently since we will be covering more players, a few handcuffs just in case of that dreadful Turf Toe, and even some high upside guys. I tried to tell you guys to go out and grab Keke Coutee last week, I really hope you listened. If you are in the playoffs, congratulations and your welcome. If you didn’t make it, or are fighting for a spot in Week 14 (you need a better commissioner), sucks to suck/good luck. Let me be clear before we get into this so I don’t get nonsense in the DMs this week. If you play in a 12 team league, or even a sharp 10 team league, almost all of these players will be owned, but it never hurts to take a peek at the waiver wire, you know just to be safe.
Running Backs That Should Be Rostered-
Obviously, This is the time of the year where fantasy owners are dropping that average backup QB for the handcuff for their stud RBs. First on my list is Latavious Murray, who is highly owned at around 65% on all platforms. He needs to be owned in 100% of leagues, especially if you are the Kamara owner. Think about this for a second, you make your championship game but the Saints are locked into the playoffs, they decide to cut Kamara’s usage in half or sit him completely, you are shit out of luck. But if you have Murray, you could still be raking up those fantasy points. The same situation applies to the following players: Devontae Booker, Benny Snell, LeVeon Bell, Jamaal Williams, and Jeremy McNichols. Some other guys that I believe could be owned as last resort efforts include: JD McKissic, Jerrick McKinnon, and All Rams RBs (good luck finding the one that will have a great day).
Wide Receivers That Should Be Rostered-
This one is where it gets tricky, are you looking for a high floor guy to put in your lineup for guaranteed points? Or are you looking for that breakout game from your receiver to crown yourself fantasy champion? Some higher floor players that must be owned: Cole Beasley, Tim Patrick, and Hunter Renfrow. High upside/ceiling players will either make or break your fantasy lineups in the playoffs. The last thing you want to do is have a goose egg in your championship game. The following players are a shot in the dark for potential breakout games: Keke Coutee (should’ve been owned last week but people are stubborn), Christian Kirk, Henry Ruggs, Jalen Reagor (starting to become startable if Hurts remains QB), Rashaad Higgins, Brandon Aiyuk.
Tight Ends are everyone’s best guess to be honest, it will always be the ugliest position in football. Logan Thomas does get a bump up from the rest, but McLaurin should bounce back in the coming weeks, lowering his floor moving forward.
QBs That Have Favorable Matchups in the Playoffs
Jared Goff- Week 14 vs Patriots, Week 15 vs Jets, Week 16 Seahawks
Jalen Hurts- Week 15 vs Cardinals, Week 16 vs Dallas
Ryan Tannehill- Week 14 vs Jaguars, Week 15 vs Lions, Week 16 Packers
Mitch Trubisky- Week 14 vs Texans, Week 15 vs Vikings, Week 16 vs Jaguars
Ben Roethlisberger- Week 14 vs Bills, Week 15 vs Bengals, Week 16 vs Colts
Baker Mayfield- Week 15 vs Giants, Week 16 vs Jets
Daniel Jones- Week 14 vs Cardinals, Week 15 vs Browns
Best of luck to everyone heading into the playoffs, hopefully our advice here at FFD got you there. We appreciate each and every one of you, yes even you, guy talking smack in our DMs week after week, you make us work harder. Our DMs are always open, we will see you in the champions circle!
