Week 7 Gimme One

Writer's picture: Morgan WatkinsMorgan Watkins

Not feelin’ the risk betting the spread or the over/under on a game this week? Well that’s okay, that’s what you have me for, but in any case I bring you another week's worth of player prop bets which I am feeling pretty darn good about going into Week 7 of the NFL season. This week, while the games may be as underwhelming as the entire NFC East this season, promises to offer those looking for action elsewhere some promising player prop bets which I feel confident will be winners for you this week. To the picks we go my fellow Degenerates!!!

(All picks are based off of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Ryan Tannehill UNDER 267.5 passing yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers (-110):

This game has the makings of a good ol’ fashion slugfest with two teams shoving the ball down each other's throats on the ground. This game should remain extremely close and competitive the whole way through meaning that the passing game will not be the end all be all come the third and fourth quarter. This Pittsburgh defense is giving up a lowly 219 passing yards per game and while Tannehill has done a great job this year, he has yet to see a defense of this caliber running him down all night. Matthew Stafford OVER 1.5 touchdown passes against the Atlanta Falcons (-196):

Is it possible that Matthew Stafford, when it’s all said and done, ends up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame? I’ve pondered this a bit the past week ever since seeing Staffords Sportscenter Top 10 side arm throw and I’m starting to think it might be possible. No, his teams haven't won much but he has managed to put up some pretty good career numbers. The Lions have had some issues this year on offense but entering this week against Atlanta, a team that 78% of the touchdowns scored against them have been through the air, the remedy is right in front of them. Opposing quarterbacks are also throwing to the tune of a 114.1 passer rating which happens to be the worst number by a defense in the league. Two bad teams that’ll end up putting points on the board and making me money...sign me up. Photo: Getty Images

Kenny Golladay OVER 78.5 receiving yards against the Atlanta Falcons (-110):

Can you guess what team in the NFL is giving up 217.5 receiving yards to wide receivers this season? That would be the Atlanta Falcons, proud owners of the Lombardi Trophy from Super Bowl 51 .... Oh wait, that doesn't sound right now does it. Seriously 28-3 jokes will never get old. Boy, have the Falcons fallen since that Super Bowl team and you could arguably make a case they are the worst team in the league. With Marvin Jones questionable for the game, the lion's share (see what I did there) of the targets will shift even more in favor of Golladay. Golladay is coming off of a 105 yards receiving, a number that has a solid chance of being toppled this week. Photo: Getty Images

Sam Darnold UNDER 220.5 passing yards against the Buffalo Bills (-110):

We all know the Jets flat out stink but this week's game against Buffalo looks like it could end up a beating of biblical proportions. The Mafia has lost two straight weeks after watching everyone jump on their bandwagon and now they will enter this game against their division rival pissed off. Buffalo’s secondary hasn’t been anything to write home about of late but they are going up against a team devoid of weapons after jettisoning their best, most mercurial offensive star. That high flying Jets air attack has been ground to the tune of 171.3 passing yards per game. In a division game, with a team looking to bounce back after two losses you can expect Sammy boy to be under a constant state of duress all game. Who knows, maybe this time next year Trevor Lawrence will fare a little better. Photo: USA Today
