Aaron Rodgers OVER 269.5 (-110) Passing Yards against the Minnesota Vikings:
This election season, I keep moving the chains inch by inch closer towards an Aaron Rodgers MVP ballot submission. While A-Aron’s never had a “down year” per say, all it took was to avoid giving him new weapons on offense and draft his future replacement with a pick that should have helped him on offense to take his game to another level. This angry Rodgers leads one of the most explosive offenses in football into this game against a Vikings pass defense giving up 286.7 yards per game through the air. Can the Vikings stop the Rodgers to Adams combo? I’m not sure and am thinking at least 100 yards plus between the duo. Rodgers is averaging less that this number (261.5 yards per game) which is less than the line but I expect him to come out slinging.
Patrick Mahomes OVER 272.5 (-110) Passing Yards against the New York Jets:
Honestly, I feel if there was a lock of the week segment in our player prop picks this would be it. The high powered Chiefs offense versus Bennie and the Jets will be about as one sided a game we have seen this season. Yes, the Chiefs are averaging 263.6 yards passing per game this season and yes the Jets are giving up an average of 259.4 yards passing per game this season but has New York gone up against a quarterback in the same stratosphere as Kermit Mahomes? I think not. This has the makings of a magical Mahomes game with a bunch of yards and a bunch of touchdowns so I fully intend on hammering the over in this game. Side bet, would feel pretty confident taking Le’Veon Bell as an anytime touchdown scorer as well (+100) in a good ol’ fashion screw you moment to Adam Gase. Photo: USA Today
Adam Thielen OVER 66.5 (-110) Receiving Yards against the Green Bay Packers:
If you know anything about my past with Adam Thielen, you know this pick hurts me deep inside but I have to pick with my brain and not with my heart. This season, Adam “Stealin” Thielen is averaging 69.16 yards receiving per contest and has already ran past the Packers to the tune of 110 yards back in Week 1. Captain Kirk’s leading man has rediscovered his receiving prowess after an off year in 2019 (thanks dork) and looks to continue that against a Packer secondary which is allowing a middle of the pack number of 240.3 yards per game through the air. On the contrary, the Viking offense is averaging 235.0 yards per game through the air with a quarter of those going to Thielen each game. With Dalvin Cook looking like he may be back, this will open things up for Thielen to once again do his thing out of the slot or on the outside for the team in purple. Photo: Vikings.com
Stefon Diggs OVER 57.5 (-110) Receiving Yards against the New England Patriots:
Josh Allen to Stefon Diggs has been a match made in heaven in the first half of the season resulting in a line of 48-603-3 to this date. If you’ve watched Diggs play, he is one of those slippery receivers who will beat you over the top on one play and then the next sit down in the zone and grab a snag over the middle. New England’s pass defense is no slouch but when you hear rumors of Stephon Gilmore sitting out in Week 8, you gotta love Stefon Diggs in this matchup. The Bills have scuffled a bit over the past few weeks but this is a big opportunity for them to show to the rest of the league that the AFC East no longer runs through Foxboro, but rather Buffalo. It is also an opportunity to bring back a few believers of the Josh Allen MVP train. What better way to do so than to throw to your top target all day. Photo: AP Images
