Halloween Darkness Lineups - DraftKings DFS Week 8

Writer's picture: BillyFFDBillyFFD

This is where I speak humbly about how we had a great week last week. I am on absolute fire the past few weeks, not only in DFS, but in gambling, and on the podcast. I gave you not one, but two cash game lineups that won me bags of money. Lineup #2 scored 208 points, so if you were following my plays you won plenty of money. But Week 7 is over and Week 8 serves us up a strange slate with some solid opportunity to make money! I am not rolling with a deep stack in the lineups I give you this week but will be focusing on a few particular games! Happy Halloween Weekend!

Kareem Hunt- $6900

Outside of Derrick Henry, he is probably the safest player on the slate this week. The Raiders have given up the 2nd most fantasy points to running backs this year. It just so happens that the Browns offense runs through their running back, AKA Kareem Hunt. Hunt has taken over the role as the starting back since Chubb went down with injury and in my opinion, he has played much better than Chubb. He is a stud who has a juicy matchup, and in DFS that is what your lineups need if you want to make money.

Josh Jacobs- $6200

Josh Jacobs is fresh off the bye week and ready to put his head down and run. If this game has the bad weather that Cleveland is expecting, he will be a must play for me. It will be hard for Derek Carr to throw the football deep, and the Raiders will be forced to run the ball. The Browns are about middle of the pack in the NFL at stopping the run, allowing 23.9 DK points per week to running backs. Josh Jacobs has had a tough set of games before the much needed bye week, but now he enters into the easier part of the schedule and he will be looking to start the second half of the season off right. Derrick Henry- $8000

Derrick Henry is probably the best pure running back in the NFL. I personally cannot afford him in most of my lineups this week. Do I need to explain why he should always be a great option? Not really. Since the start of the 2019 season, Henry is second in total yards. He faces off against the Bengals who cannot stop RBs, and who just shipped off their best defensive lineman in Carlos Dunlap. If you can afford him, you need to play him.

Le'veon Bell- $4600

Two reasons Le'veon Bell could be a great play in Week 8. The revenge versus Adam Gase, and the value of his price. I can confirm his play in week 1-6 was mediocre at best, and even week 7 he didn’t get it going like we thought he would. We could chalk that one up to not truly knowing most of the plays in the Chiefs offense. I will take the risk on Bell with the Revenge of the Gase game for the price of a bag of tortilla chips. Henry Ruggs- $4900

If you read anything that I wrote about before the season started, he was one of my top 3 guys that I needed on my season long team. He is lightning fast in a way that can change a game with one snap of the football and the same goes for your DFS lineups. Ruggs is second in the league in yards per reception with 26.5 Y/R. This would be the perfect matchup for him to have a monster day, the Browns have given up 30.1 fantasy points to wide outs which ranks 29th in the NFL. This game has all the makings of a shootout with two bad defenses and two solid offensive teams with weapons across the board. Just something to keep an eye on, the weather right now is calling for 20+ MPH winds and rain, so the deep ball might not be there for him.

AJ Green- $4700

I know what you are thinking, AJ “Dusty” Green?! Do you know what I am thinking? VALUE! In the last two games, he has had 24 targets for 15 receptions and 178 yards. Is AJ Green becoming good at football again? I don’t know, and honestly don’t care. His value screams throw me in lineups, and I just don’t have another choice. Photo: Sports Illustrated

Devante Adams- $8800

What else can we say besides put him in your lineup if you want a 40+ point game? Adams has played in 4 games, and has scored 40+ points in half of them. He is averaging 26.2 fantasy points per game this season. The last time that Adams faced off against the Purple Boys, he went nuclear on them with 14 receptions for 156 yards and 2 TDs. Lock the studs in and forget about it. Photo: ESPN

Brandon Aiyuk- $5800

A wide receiver facing the Seahawks? I’ll test the waters with that one. With no Deebo Samuel once again (not a surprise), Brandon Aiyuk will be taking over his role as the versatile player out wide. He is used in both the passing game and the run game when Deebo is out for the 49ers. This Seattle D that was once a force to be reckoned with, is now the worst against the pass in the NFL as they have allowed 64.3 DraftKings points per game to wide receivers. That is 14.3 more points per week than any other team in the NFL.

AJ Brown- $6900

AJ Brown has gotten too much hate from me, he has been wildly efficient in 2020. He has had at least 5 receptions in every single game this season, and has had a touchdown in every game but Week 1. Sorry I gave you a hard time Mr. Brown. Please give me faith in you while I stick you in my DK lineups this week! The Bengals seem to always stay in games this season and will force the Titans to continue to throw the ball. The Bengals have given up the 7th most passing yards in the NFL this season, safe to say he will be seeing plenty of fantasy points this week. Photo: USA Today

Denzel Mims- $3200

I loved this man coming into the year, but spent the first half of the season hurt. He made his return last week and had 4 receptions on 7 targets for 42 yards. With Jamison Crowder still out, his volume could be even larger in Week 8 with the Chiefs matchup. The Jets will most likely be down by 30+ at some point in this game, and if Adam Gase wants to pretend like he's trying to win games they will have to throw the ball.

Darren Waller- $5600

Darren Waller is the number one option in the Raiders passing offense, and boy is he a weapon of mass destruction. He is the 3rd ranked TE in PPR, he also has only one game with less than 5 receptions. He is tied for first with Travis Kelce for most receptions as well as most targets. If you believe in how bad the Browns defense is, you need to stick this higher price TE into every lineup you own. Photo: CBS Sports

Derek Carr- $5500

“Send in the Carr” as Captain Mitchell said in Die Hard as the SWAT Team rolled in. In this case, it is Jon Gruden who is calling in the Carr, Derek Carr to be specific. This Raiders team is building something special out in the desert of Las Vegas. I am going to be rolling the dice on Derek Carr who has quietly been one of the most efficient QBs in the NFL with 13 TDs and only 2 interceptions, and has a completion percentage of 72% which is good for 3rd best in the NFL. I believe that the Raidaaaahhhs win this game versus the Browns and their defense that ranks 25th against QBs.

Joe Burrow- $6200

I gave you the Joe Burrow play last week, you don’t need to thank me my DK account thanked me and I hope yours did too. Joey B has thrown more passes than anyone else in the NFL this season, and has completed more passes than anyone else this season. The Tiger King has thrown for the 3rd most yards, which happens when you throw as much as he does. The only thing truly missing from the stat line is the TDs. The Titans have given up an average of 23.5 fantasy points to QBs on the season, and I am a big Joe Burrow guy the rest of the season because of the passing volume. Photo: Getty Images

Defense- cheapest you can afford not paying up this week. Just not the Jets obviously.
