Week 1 is in the books, and it made little to no sense to me. Matchups that should have been beautiful were ugly, i.e. Calvin Ridley and Kyle Pitts vs Philly, Urban Meyer has no clue who his top running back is. I should’ve seen Raheem Mostert leaving the game with a knee injury, but I didn’t. Regardless, Week 1 gave us some valuable information about how some teams will be approaching games going into the 2021 season. We put Week 1 behind us and act like it never happened, New Week New Slate everyone.
Week 2 brings in some lopsided matchups for running backs, some shootouts for WR and QB plays. Tight ends you ask? Ehhhh we have seen better but we will work with what we’ve got this week and find some value! As usual we are looking into cash games for the average readers out there. If you want to see more Tournament plays, comment below and let me know!!!
Nick Chubb- $8400
Unlike Urban Meyer, Kevin Stefanski knows how to coach a football team. The Browns will run the ball down the throats of the Texans, make them look like the CFL team they really are. Nick Chubb blew up the improved Chiefs D for 85 yards on 15 carries and 2 TDs. Not only did he find the endzone twice, he was efficient with his carries, averaging 5.5 ypc which is far above the league average as per usual of Nick Chubb. Last season, the Texans were at the bottom of the list for rushing yards allowed per game with 160 yards. The Texans were also 2nd worst in the NFL with allowing 1.5 rushing TDs per game. Don’t overthink this, he will return value, but will most likely be highly owned which will lead me into my next play.

Kareem Hunt- $5700
Same situation, same game, same result. Both Kereen Hunt and Nick Chubb will see plenty of work in this massacre of the Houston Texans. Kareem Hunt also ran for 5.5 ypc on only 6 attempts, but found the endzone vs the Chiefs. Hunt is used primarily as a 3rd down back in passing packages, but once upon a time he was a bell cow back for one season. When the Browns, who will be playing with a chip on their shoulder after losing to the AFC Champs, go up by 3 scores I wouldn’t be shocked if Hunt takes 1st and 2nd down snaps and they give Nick Chubb a break. This could be a discount Chubb game, and will be throwing him in a few of my lineups for sure this week in hopes that Chubb takes a backseat after a big lead comes for the Browns.
Ezekiel Elliot- $7500
This may be the cheapest we have seen Zeke in a few years, and for the price it is something I am willing to take a chance on, especially in Tournaments. The slander of “Zeke is dust” might be a little over the top, at least in my opinion. Week 1 was a negative game script for the Cowboys, so why would they run Zeke mindlessly up the middle against that uber talented front 7 of the Bucs? In Week 2, however, the Cowboys play the Chargers who are an average run D at best, allowing 121 yards per game last year on the ground. At the discounted price he would be a decent to lowkey option, especially because of all the negative hype of Zeke being “washed up”. Low ownership, decent matchup, great talent, possible week winner!
Elijah Mitchell- $5800
Everyone’s favorite waiver wire gem makes my lineups this week as well as his fellow teammate in the backfield. When there is a murky backfield like the 49ers always seem to be, I find it important to have shares of both players. Mitchell torched the Lions for 104 yards in his NFL debut, while Sermon was a healthy scratch for breaking team rules. I’m not fully convinced that the Eagles Defense is really any good, and more of the opinion that they just wanted to win the game more. Kyle Shanahan always finds a way to run the ball efficiently regardless of game script, regardless of the running back.
Trey Sermon- $5500
Like I just said, I will have ownership of both of the 49ers running backs in Week 2. It was reported by the lead beat reporter of the 49ers that Sermon “put 110% into practice this week and looks to have learned his lesson”. Is that just football talk? Or are there legs to these rumors? I was high on Trey Sermon coming out of the draft and my mind hasn’t changed one bit. I will gladly throw Sermon into some of my lineups for a chance of a breakout game from the rookie.
Dak Prescott- $8000
When Dak is fully healthy, which he looks to be, he is a top 5 QB in the NFL and not many people will disagree with that statement. With the weapons and OLine that the Cowboys have, they will be an offensive powerhouse for years to come. Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb are top tier WRs week in and week out. There isn’t a team in the NFL that can slow down this offense, and with how bad the Cowboys secondary is, they will always be needing to throw the ball. Dak, in the first game of the NFL season, put up a monster game against a top 5 defense in the NFL by passing for 403 yards on 42 completions adding in 3 TDs. You also need to factor in his rushing ability which is always available, rushing for the 3rd most TDs in the NFL in the last decade with 24 in 70 games.
Justin Herbert- $7600
This Cowboys/Chargers game will be the highest scoring game of the weekend without a doubt. This game reeks of points, points, points from both teams which is why we are running stacks on each side of this game. Herbert put up an average fantasy week last week, but played a strong defense in the WFT in Week 1. The Cowboys gave up 379 yards through the air last week in the season opener, and this Chargers offense is just as dangerous as any in the league when they are firing on all cylinders. Justin Herbert broke almost every rookie QB record last year, I believe this week he gets back on track and has a monster game with all his weapons available for Week 2.

Jalen Hurts- $7800
Mini Lamar? Lamar with the ability to throw a football? Too early to tell? All great questions to ask when you go back and watch the film of the smackdown that the Eagles put on the Falcons in Week 1. Hurts proved haters wrong in Week 1 in a big way by hanging 32 points on the bottomfeeder Falcons. Hurts threw for 264 yards, 3 TDs, while adding 62 rushing yards on seven attempts. I still have some reservations whether the Eagles are actually any good or whether the Falcons are really that bad. Either way, Jalen Hurts fills up the box score both through the air and on the ground. In Week 2, they head home to Philly to play the 49ers, who let a Jard Goff led Lions offense put up 33 points on them, most of those points coming in garbage time. One more question for the readers, is Jalen Hurts a better QB than Jared Goff? I think so, and so should you.
Mac Jones- $6800
Mac Jones is a cute little contrarian play that I don’t think many people will be on. This is a play if you are trying to spend up on all other positions and you need a cheap mini stack in your lineup. I will have a few shares of him stacked up with Jakobi Meyers as they face off against the Jets in Week 2. The Jets let Sammy Smooches hang 278 passing yards against them in a revenge game, Mac Jones should be able to put up the same if Big Bad Bill Belichick let's him run wild like we think he can. Mac put up a modest 281 yard passing game against a much tougher defense in the Dolphins last week, so I like the chances of him having a good day especially at the discounted price of the stack with Meyers.
Kyler Murray- $8700
Let's get this one out of the way, Kyler Murray will be a play every single week. He is just good at football. He is locked and loaded for 25-30 fantasy points week in and week out no matter the matchup, especially with the help of DHop as his main target. Until he either falls off a cliff or (god forbid) gets hurt, he is worthy of a play in every DFS Lineup until further notice. Having Kyler gives you the passing ability as well as the rushing ability we can only dream that Lamar Jackson could give us on a weekly basis. In Week 2, Arizona faces off against a Minnesota team that allowed Joe “One Knee” Burrow to throw for 261 and 2 TDs. Sometimes it is better to just pay up if you know the QB will guarantee you ROI.
Mike Williams- $5600
Oh my sweet prince, Mike Williams had a day in Week 1 bringing in 8 catches on 12 targets for 82 yards and a TD. I have said it on every single podcast, in previous articles and I will say it until Adam Gase gets another HC job. Mike Williams can be a league winner, as well as a DFS winner. We just talked about how bad the Dallas secondary is, and we talked about how we believe that Justin Herbert will have a strong bounceback game. Mike Williams adds a boom potential to your lineup, while still being peppered with targets. Fun fact about his production last week, it was the 2nd most targets he has ever received in a game and it was the most receptions he has ever had in a game. This one should be a shootout, and both of the Chargers WRs should be stacked in the lineups!

Keenan Allen- $7400
The route running king (my opinion of course) is a great play for Week 2, but it will probably be the most chalky play of the day as well. Keenan Allen averages just under 7 receptions per game in his career, and just over 9 targets per game in his career. The Cowboys gave up 379 yards last week through the air in Week 1. The current prop bet for Keenan Allen Receptions is set at 7.5 and I believe that hits the over with ease. Keenan Allen is always a play especially in Full PPR formats.

DeAndre Hopkins- $8500
Simple problems sometimes require simple solutions. DeAndre Hopkins is a simple solution week in and week out. Nuke Hopkins is a top 3 WR in the NFL, has a top 7 QB throwing him the ball, faced paced offense. Slam the “That was Easy” button that is on your desk right now and put him in your lineups whenever you are thinking about using Kyler at QB. JaMarr Chase lit up the Vikings all over the field last week, DHop is 100x the WR that Chase is. No analytics needed in this one, put him in the lineup vs the positive matchup against the Vikings.
Cooper Kupp- $6200
My little Cooper Kupp showed out in his first game with Matthew Stafford in Week 1. If you watched the game last week, it seemed as though Stafford was actively looking to get Kupp the ball especially out in space. Kupp had 7 receptions for 108 yards on 10 targets facing the Bears on Sunday Night Football. He also managed to find the end zone once and was just an inch short on another play. Kupp has been a TD machine since he came into the league, add Matthew Stafford into the equation and it could result in ALOT of fantasy points all year long.
DeVonta Smith- $5600
DeVonta Smith made me put my foot in my mouth when I said “he’s too small to play on the outside in the NFL”. Sorry buddy, it wasn’t personal, it was just business. Smith made a great over the shoulder catch in the corner of the end zone last week that had me shook. He brought in 6 receptions on 8 targets for 72 yards and a TD. It was clear as the sky is blue that Smith will be Jalen Hurts’ favorite option for the rest of the season, thanks in part to the Alabama connection they share.
Jakobi Meyers- $5500
Jakobi Meyers will quickly become one of the most sought after WRs in season long fantasy football. Mac Jones is for real and there is no doubt about it. Jakobi was targeted 9 times in week 1 and managed to bring in 6 receptions for 44 yards. It was a little underwhelming if you ask me, but then I remember they played a tough secondary in the Dolphins so I will give him the pass. I expect much bigger yardage and even a TD in this matchup vs the Jets.
Tyler Higbee- $5600
Tyler Higbee may quite possibly be Staffords second favorite target. Higbee finished Week 1 with 5 receptions for 68 yards on 6 targets against the Bears stout D. Add in one of the most important statistics when it comes to DFS, his snap percentage was 85.6%. Opportunity is everything in fantasy sports, whether it be daily or season long. I will gladly start a TE who is on the field for almost every offensive play!
Cole Cmet- $5100
Cheap, effective, Andy Dalton can’t throw the ball deep. Sounds like a great choice for a young TE who saw 7 targets in Week 1. Can’t beat the upside of that target share for the price you can get Cmet. In a perfect world, we would love to see the Justin Fields, Cole Cmet connection but we might be waiting a while since Matt Nagy can’t tell the difference from his ass to his elbow.
