Draft season is finally over, and we are only one day away until the kickoff of the NFL season, but maybe your team doesn’t look as promising as you thought it would be. You could've had some early injuries that have already derailed your season, or real tough matchups to start the year and you are looking for some streaming options. It is harder than it sounds to predict what will happen in the first week of the NFL season, but for now here are some great options that could be sitting on your waiver wire this week!
Jameis Winston
If the King Crab is sitting on your waiver wire, he is worth the pickup without question. He has one of the highest ceilings of any streaming QB on the market currently. Personally, I drafted him at the end of almost every draft I could just based on the potential upside he brings. Last time we saw Jameis as a starting QB, he tore it up for 5,000 yards and 33 TDs but also managed to throw for 30 INTs. Good news, TDs count more than INTs do in fantasy football! He’s worth the upside of stashing on your bench, or if you need a streamer for Week 1 he may be your guy.
Trevor Lawrence
I am a known Trevor Lawrence hater, but the matchup against possibly the worst NFL roster of all time in Week 1 makes him a great QB streamer. Houston can’t do anything right, offensively or defensively, not to mention they just traded away their best CB in Bradley Roby. Every last Jaguar receiver should be open at pretty much anytime in Week 1. The only question that remains is, what will Urban Meyer’s offense look like?

Ryan Fitzpatrick
Ryan Fitzpatrick is not someone you want to start Week 1-3 but I promise you, he won’t be on the waiver wire by his Week 4 matchup vs the Falcons. Go check your current QB schedule for Week 4, he might be someone you want to look at way before everyone else does if you are in the game of streaming a QB. Falcons have possibly the worst secondary in all of the NFL this year, which is no surprise considering how bad it was in 2020.
Baker Mayfield
I think that this week could be a shootout game vs the Chiefs to start the season off for the Browns. Baker will need to push the ball downfield in order to win this game. This opens the door for a great streaming option for Week 1. He has all the weapons in OBJ, Jarvis Landry, Kareem Hunt etc. to put up a great fantasy week. Baker will be my QB in many DFS lineups this weekend without a second guess.

Devontae Booker
Saquon started to drop in drafts this week leading up to the first game of the year. His health is still a big question mark, and when you take a high profile player with injury concerns it is vital to also take his handcuff. If you didn’t manage to grab him in drafts and he is sitting on your waiver wire, you should pick Booker up without a bat of an eye.
Ty’son Wiliams
The RB2 for the Ravens is a valuable player to own in fantasy football. People were rushing to grab Gus Edwards last season, Ty’son Williams is that guy this year. He played phenomenal in the preseason and managed to be the RB2 ahead of Justice Hill even before the injury happened. It takes some skill to be the Ravens second option at RB, and there are rumors from the beat reporters in Baltimore that he will see a good chunk of work, especially early on in the season. It is also important to note that the Ravens WR core is demolished from minor injuries and there will be plenty of touches available to whoever is the hot hand. I have shares of him in many leagues already, and I think that he could be the steal of my drafts, and the possible steal of the waiver wire this year!
LeVeon Bell
Earlier this week the Ravens brought in Bell for a tryout, and he walked out of the building with the job. I personally do not think he sees any relevant playing time, as the signing was more of an insurance policy after Justice Hill tore his ACL. Bell would need another injury in the RB room to occur for him to be truly fantasy relevant, but I believe that if he gets the chance he can be a low end flex when he plays. Running Backs are hard to come by, especially Ravens backs. LeVeon Bell is 100% worth the stash on your bench.
Sterling Shepard
Rumor has it that Sterling Shepard will be the WR1 for the Giants in 2021. Even after the signing of Kenny Golladay, they still plan on having Shepard be a big part of their offense, which is something I did not expect to happen. Add in the idea that Saquon could be on a snap count early in the year, especially Week 1 since they play Thursday Night for Week 2, it could spell an uptick in targets for Shepard early in the season.
Rondale Moore
This rookie was highly touted coming out of the draft and I wish I was as high on him as others inside the fantasy community. I just feel like every year there is a rookie Cardinal WR that everyone thinks will break out, but just flops. Need examples? Andy Isabella, Christian Kirk, KeeSean Johnson. I hope this is the year the curse is reversed and they finally draft a stud. Currently Rondale Moore is buried in the depth chart, but skill and talent always rise to the top. Copyright: Getty Images
Jakobi Meyers
Jakobi Meyers very well could win people leagues if Mac Jones can run a solid offense for the Patriots. Meyers will most likely be the only competent WR for New England in 2021, and the rookie QB will need to rely on someone to help move the chains outside of the RB room. Once Jones was declared the starter, you saw the ADP of Jakobi Meyers skyrocket and for good reason! He will finally have a competent QB throwing the ball to him and not Noodle arm Cam Newton. Meyers should be on a roster in every 12 team league in my opinion, he holds
Parris Campbell
I have said this multiple times both in articles as well as on the podcast. Parris Campbell could be the best value in all of fantasy football. He is the most talented WR on the Colts, and with Carson Wentz as QB, he brings high upside for once in his career. Wentz has the ability to push the ball downfield unlike Phillip Rivers did in 2020. All of this is great news, but the issue is that Campbell can’t seem to stay healthy. In the 1 game he played last year, Campbell was peppered for 9 targets and brought in 6 catches for 71 yards.
Pat Friermuth
Potential sleeper TE of the year Patty Muth has a great Week 1 matchup against the Bills. The Bills gave up an average of 8.6 fantasy points per game to the TE position last year. I think this is a sneaky deep league addition as a streaming TE if you need the help.
Panthers D
Do we trust the Jets to score a bunch of points in Week 1? If you needed a second to think about that, I promise you the answer is a big resounding NO! Panthers have spent almost all of their draft capital the last two years on defensive players, this year their most notable draft pick was Jaycee Horn, who was my favorite CB coming out of the draft. Fade the Jets until they can prove they can score points.
