Strange Slate, Winning Slate - DFS Week 5

Writer's picture: BillyFFDBillyFFD

I told y'all the Brinks trucks were backing into our accounts last week, and I didn’t let you down! Sam Darnold put up massive numbers, Dawson Knox was the tight end play of the week, the only thing I missed was the Cordarelle Patterson play. Tyreek Hill was in my Milly Maker lineup but I didn’t speak about it, sorry about that one. Besides that, we had some great picks, and hopefully we all cashed out positive on the day like I did. New week brings new challenges, new matchups, new opportunities, so without further adieu lets get into it!

Danny Dimes- $6000

The Danny Dimes breakout has arrived and I hope you aren’t missing out! Daniel Dimes has been known to turn the ball over during his young career, and it looks like he has finally cleaned up his act. He is currently averaging 24.1 fantasy points per game, and at his price of $6000, you can’t find better value if you want a cheap stack to go along with a stud RB this week. Dallas has been horrendous against opposing QBs this season, allowing an average of 27.5 fantasy points to the position, and giving up 315 passing yards per game which is 2nd worst in the NFL. Daniel Jones aka Danny Loose Change is one of my favorite plays of the weekend!

Sam Darnold- $6600

Sam Darnold is SO hot right now! You’d be crazy not to ride the hot hand at this point. CMC will be out at least one more game, which will mean that the offense should be more pass heavy vs the Eagles. Fun Fact: Sam Darnold leads the league in rushing TDs with 5, which is a statement I thought I’d never say. The stack of Darnold and DJ Moore has worked all year and I will be going back to it again this week.

Tom Brady- $7400

The GOAT makes the list for the first time this year as he looks to bounce back after a tough personal performance against his former team. Brady has what most other QBs don’t have, the offense that throws the ball an average of 46 times a game. For this alone, there is value in owning shares of him. Then you add in that over his long career, Brady has absolutely destroyed the Dolphins year in and year out. Brady has thrown for the 3rd most yards, tied for the 3rd most TDs, and has only thrown 2 INTs. The only problem is if you want to stack him, who will be the guy?

Kenny Golladay- $5900/Kadarius Toney- $4000

If you are following my lead with the Loose Change stack, then you will want to put these two guys in your lineups this week. Kenny Golladay has finally turned the corner in NY this season, getting the work necessary to be the WR1 for the team. Last week Golladay had 7 targets for 6 receptions and 116 yards versus a much tougher Saints secondary. Dallas has given up the 2nd most yards through the air to start the season, picking up right where they left off in 2020. Toney will be the underneath option for Danny Dimes, and in a PPR format, that could be very valuable against the Cowboys. He saw his career high in targets last game with 9, which was more than he had all season prior to Week 4. This will be a very affordable stack on a slate with some big names, and I will be running it out on a few occasions this week.

DJ Moore- $7500

I have a friend who texts me every Sunday to tell me he is a “BIG DJ MOORE GUY” because I told him that I was a Robby Anderson believer. I didn’t take into account that Robby would remind Sammy Smooches of Adam Gase, which results in him never seeing the ball. DJ Moore breakout season is upon us and strap in because it has just begun. I understand he will be lining up across Darius Slay in week 5, but he doesn’t scare me. Sam Darnold has been too good this season, and DJ Moore has been his favorite option. DJ Moore has averaged 22 fantasy points per game, which ranks 4th in the NFL for wideouts during this early part of the season. He also ranks 4th in targets, 5th in receptions and their offense will still be without the workhorse CMC for at least another week.

JaMarr Chase- $5800

JaMarr Chase is good at football, and I’m sorry I spoke badly on him before the season started, nothing personal Mr. Chase, just business. The Bengals face off versus the Packers in a Week 5 showdown that I think has a shootout written all over it. Both of these secondaries struggle and both of these QBs can throw the football far and long. Joe Burrow is having himself a season to start 2021, and his college buddy has been there by his side for him. Chase is 2nd in the NFL in TDs, 12th in fantasy points per game, and is averaging over 17 yards per reception, which could mean he breaks out a few big plays against this Packers secondary who is riddled with injuries. Love this game, and will be throwing other options for this game into my lineups for sure!

ALL BUCS WRS

This is more of a general play, since it is so hard to pick who will be the lead option in this passing offense. One thing to note is that Chris Godwin’s workload has decreased over the last few weeks. I am leaning towards using Mike Evans as he has seen the majority of the workload over the past few weeks, but I would be remiss if I didn’t own shares of all 3 of them and pray one of them goes off for a massive week. Mike Evans seems to have fallen into that Gronk safety net role since Gronk hit the injury list, but that can change every week. They are all on the mid level price side, it will be beneficial to have shares of all 3 players since, like I said before, the Buccaneers average 46 passing attempts a game this season.

Justin Jefferson- $7700

I think this is a great spot for Justin Jefferson to go OFF. Kirk Cousins is playing some of the best football of his career, and Jefferson should, in theory, be able to do whatever he wants versus this Lions secondary. He has quietly been having a great start to the 2021 season with 26 receptions for 338 yards and 3 TDs on 37 targets. Currently sitting at the WR7 in PPR formats, he will always be a great option to roll out. The Lions have given up a league worst 14.8 yards per completion this season, along with a 66% completion percentage for QBs this year.

Derrick Henry- $9000

Our Majesty never disappoints especially versus division opponents. The Jaguars are the laughing stock of the NFL currently and there will be no way they will be able to stand a chance at stopping Derrick Henry. In 10 games versus the Jaguars, Henry has 1,013 yards on 184 carries and 12 TDs. It's safe to say he loves playing against Jacksonville. Lock him into your lineup if you are willing to pay the high price for the King.

Kenny Gainwell- $4900

Miles Sanders has all but lost his job to Kenneth Gainwell this year. Gainwell is the pass catching back for the Eagles, and he will be called upon early and often against this Panthers Defense who is one of the best defenses against the run allowing only 95 yards per game on the ground. If it weren't for Zeke having a massive day last week, they would still be a top 3 rushing D. Kenny G is currently 3rd on the team in receptions on only 18 targets, and is averaging 8.8 yards per reception. Could be a great sneaky play as most people will be off of the Eagles running game, could be less than 5% owned.

Leonard Fournette- $5200

Playoff Lenny has taken this starting job of the Bucs running back room and ran away with it.

This week, he faces off versus a Miami team who has given up 136.8 rushing yards per game which is 6th most in the NFL, and given up 1.2 rushing TDs per game which is 7th worst in the NFL. I think the Bucs get up early, and then spend a bunch of 1st and 2nd down plays running the ball with Fournette in the second half. Let's toss everyone’s favorite former Jaguar RB in our lineups and let's eat!

Dalton Schultz- $4400

Dalton is everything I wished Blake Jarwin would be, but I digress. Dalton Schultz is currently the TE4 through 4 weeks, yes you read that right THE TE4! Schultz has 20 catches on 23 targets for 203 yards and 3 TDs to start the season. The Giants historically have been bad against the TE position year after year. In 2021 the Giants are allowing 10 fantasy points per game and 1 TD per game to the tight end. I foresee a continued workload for Schultz in this rivalry matchup. He is a good run back with the Daniel Jones stack I will be rolling out.

Arizona Cardinals Defense- $2900

This Cardinals defense has looked good to start the season, now they face off against a rookie QB who has real accuracy questions. Give me the cheap option in the Cardinals D this week, as they are rolling through this division with ease.

Joe Burrow- $6100

JD McKissic- $5000
